Educational Background

Dr. DeWald earned his medical degree from St. George's University. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Wayne State University where he served as chief resident. He then completed a prestigious Sports Medicine fellowship at the world-renowned Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

Professional Journey

Following his fellowship, Dr. DeWald was recruited to join Tucson Orthopaedic Institute, where he spent over six years transforming an almost exclusively surgical practice into an international destination for regenerative medicine. He now treats patients at NESCI and leads Florida Regen, a premier institute for sports, performance, regenerative medicine and longevity.

Leading in Regenerative Medicine

Dr. DeWald is known as a leader in non-surgical orthopedic care with over 13 years of experience in sports medicine, orthobiologics, MSK ultrasound and regenerative medicine procedures. He specializes in advanced treatments including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), autologous exosomes, A2M, and bone marrow and micronized lipoaspiration stem cells. 

Teaching and Recognition

Recognized for his significant contributions to regenerative medicine and sports medicine, Dr. DeWald  regularly teaches and presents at prestigious national and international conferences including AMSSM, AAPMR, The Orthobiologic Institute (TOBI), Regenerative Medicine Training Institute, and Boston BioLife. He has personally trained hundreds of physicians on various orthobiologic and MSK ultrasound techniques.

Collaborative Care

In addition, Dr. DeWald works closely with physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other health professionals to create comprehensive treatment plans. In a strategic partnership with the New England Stem Cell Institute and Dr. Paul Tortland, he divides his practice between Miami and Connecticut, providing exceptional care to patients in both regions.
