The P-Shot® (The Priapus Shot®) – Glastonbury, CT

ED Treatment Without the Gimmicks

You can’t watch TV for more than a few minutes these days without seeing a professional for an ED pill or testosterone supplement that promises to “give you your swagger back.” The truth of the matter is that millions of men suffer from ED, and often, a pill just isn’t enough to fix it. At New England Stem Cell Institute, we can use platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or the P-Shot in Glasontbury, CT to treat the underlying physical causes of ED so our patients and their partners can enjoy real results they’re able to rely on.

Why Choose New England Stem Cell Institute for The P-Shot®?

How the P-Shot® Can Help

Do you or someone you know suffer from:

If medications haven’t helped (or if you aren’t interested in taking medications), and if you are trying to avoid invasive surgical procedures, then the Priapus Shot®, or P-Shot®, could be your answer! The P-Shot® is a natural treatment for erectile dysfunction and Peyronie's disease.

What Does The P-Shot® Do?

The P-Shot® uses your own blood to accomplish the following:

How is the P-Shot® Done?

First, we apply a numbing cream to the penis. We then prepare the PRP; we draw some of your blood, just like when you have a blood test done. While you wait, we process the blood in our on-site lab to extract and concentrate the platelets (the platelets are the key to the treatment!). We then do a nerve block near the base of the penis to numb things up even further. The PRP concentrate is then injected into the penis in specific locations to achieve the maximum effect. The entire process is virtually painless.

Immediately prior to injecting the PRP, we first perform a special shock wave treatment to the penis (this is known as ESWT - extracorporeal shock wave treatment). This also is virtually painless; this step is intended to break up any scar tissue, stimulate blood flow, and increase the production of nitric oxide, which further enhances the effectiveness of the treatment. The best long-term results are seen if you have additional shock wave treatments after the injection; shock wave treatments are given once a week for 6 weeks.

How Many Treatments are Needed?

Usually, 3 treatments, each spaced 6 weeks apart, are recommended for the best results.

When Will I Start to See Improvement?

How Long Do the Benefits Last?

In most cases, men will see an improvement that lasts 1-2 years. In older men, the results may be shorter.

The P-Shot® is a trademarked procedure, and only physicians properly trained in the safe and responsible administration of the technique are licensed to perform it.

The P-Shot is not recommended, and typically will not work, in the following situations:

Please Be Aware!

The P-Shot® procedure does not work well for people who smoke for the same reasons that a plastic surgeon would not perform a facelift or place breast implants on a smoker-- the poisons in the cigarettes will kill the growth of the stem cells that are recruited and fertilized by the PRP. You will first need to stop smoking before we will perform the P-Shot®.
